After the excellent first book(I recommended it to several people), I am disappointed in the quality of this one. The first half of the book is boring, it should have taken me 2-3 days to read this instead it was more like 2 weeks. Several new characters are introduced, the most interesting one is a pigeon, the rest are entirely forgettable. The villain is more pathetic than threatening. And the inevitable betrayal is evident from the introduction. Larry is mostly a comic relief sidekick, and Kira, while appearing in every scene, is treated as a minor character.If I hadn't been expecting more from this book I might have given 4stars, or maybe wouldn't have finished it. I am hoping that this author takes more time with the next book (more rewrites and editing) and is able to bring the series back up to 5stars. Tom out
